help, last minute question

Will they shrink wrap my bag at the delhi international airport. I think its to heavy for carry on so maybe have to check it. Problem is the bag is weak so maybe they will wrap it and all will be good. I am heading for chicago. And do they actually weigh the bag?

They did it for my cricket bat which I couldnt take on with me. Cost me 100 Rs. and was well worth it. Bad for the environment, but good for the bat. They are usually at the front of the airport as soon as you walk in.

Yes, you can get the wraping done in Delhi airport, after security-x-ray, but before check-in. I've seen many travellers making the mistake of attempting to wrap the bags after check-in. In most cases Airline Staff usually refuse to comply.
It used to be Rs 50 when they started it a few years ago. Now maybe Rs 150/-.
They do not weigh your bag.

I have gone out of Delhi 3 times during the last 6 months and every time they have weighed the bags. (Not the carry on as long as it goes as carry on)
