In Palolem at this time of year there aren't going to be any maddening crowds I assure you!! Also from the 27th of May I'm not sure how many camps will still be open!!
There will be a few so don't worry on that score, you will get a hut it's just hard for me to recommend anyplace as a lot of camps are closing at this time!!
Just turn up it's not busy and you can choose the place that suits you and there is a staggering selection of huts dotted along the beach and I reckon at least 40% of them will still be doing business.
Be aware though depending on the pre monsoon storms there may not be a beach at Palolem, the beach flattens and the water rises leaving little room to "beach it" although the north end may still be OK!!
Have fun it's a great place and you've picked a great time to see it!

There is a great place called DreamCatcher which is the last place at the Northern end of Palolem Beach. Run by a British woman and her Goan partner. Has views over undeveloped backside of the coast. It has huts (whch may have beentaken down in preparation for the monsoon). Sorry, I don't have an email contact or web site, but you can find it by walking up the beach and then going through between the last shacks. AnnieG was just at ciarans at palolem..really nice..and 800 rs for a double...offseason...they were already removing some of the shacks..they said usually by the first rain most of the huts need to go~..so you might be out of luck if the rain comes before may 27th...
