Fashion designer making the move to India! Can my boyfriend come?

I am in the process of making the move to India for my design company. My boyfriend plans to come with, what are the visa requirements? We were hoping to get married in India, but aren't sure if we need to be legally married in order for him to make the move with me as I will be on a business visa. I assume he would get a tourist visa until we married? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated

Easy one. Yes, he can get a tourist visa: officially, his relationship with you would have nothing to do with his visits. He should apply as a plain, simple tourist, and certainly not mention you in any way.

As you guys are in US, he can get a ten-year tourist visa. He can only spend 180 days at a time in India, with obligatory 2-month gap between visits, but at least he won't have to keep re-applying for new visas. No need to rush the marriage!
