Hi there,

I am having a hard time coming up with information about expats living in India. So I have set up a ezboard called "Expats: Living In India" and I would like to invite you all to come for a visit, share advice ect.

Jyotsna, your new discussion board is a fantastic resource, and it seems a much needed one.
I can't offer any expat advice for people in India (too busy expatting in Europe), but I hope it works to coordinate the sharing of advice and experiences.

I'm just about to begin the expat life myself - in India for approx 6 months ... departing within 2 weeks if all goes well (I found out yesterday

Therefore, I'll be a frequent visitor looking for experienced brains to pick.
I can only encourage any other expats to join in.

In Chennai there is an American expat wives association, which even publish a journal and have come togethers where topics are discussed about how to treat the servants, where to buy the best textiles for window draperies and so on. Not my cup of tea. But they seem quite active, even on charity sales and so on. (But I hate Western dogooders).

this site seems to be rich with advertising including insertion advertising from which it is hard to extrcate yourself.

It (the site) seems to take you well away from IndiaMike. There seem to have been been many visitors but no joiners (joiners?). Is this a rival site?

Well the board they use is a free one, so you get all the adverts that the company feels they want to use. I don't know if I consider it a rival site, I asked jyotsna if her if she wanted to run a seperate section here just for expats and the note was never responded to.

THIS is an good site.

The idea about bringing Expats section into it is a good one.
