I would strongly advise using Indian Government (Ministry of Home Affairs, and/or your local embassy or consulate site) as the main source of reference for this kind of stuff. Even then, not all officials will agree!

I think this article is misleading. India does not offer dual citizenship. If an Indian national takes up the citizenship of another country then his Indinal citizenship stands cancelled automatically, in practice one might need to inform the local embassy.
OCI is commonly refered to as dual citizenship but never in offical communication. It is more of a slang than actual granting of rights. The statement "They are eligible for grant of OCI as long as their home countries allow dual citizenship" is also wrong as getting OCI does not get an Indian passport or travel document, merely a certificate (which is size of a passport). There have been a few posts stating this before. Nick is right only the official government sites should be quoted. |

OCI was a rather unfortunate choice of terminology! But it is always interesting to read interpretations from others. |
