It's difficult for a person to know how reliable a search engine is, it may look good and seem accurate, but in reality how many of us can know for sure if the info we're given is the complete or best info.
A few years ago I was researching a 'project' and trying to put together a 'Planes at a Glance' for indiamike. I started off with maybe 6 or 7 flight search websites and cross-checked them all with the airlines own websites, within a day I was down to just 3 flight search websites (the 3 mentioned above) as the rest were painfully inaccurate, within a few weeks I was down to 2, although Makemytrip was good, there were too many mistakes at that time (the mistakes were small, and this was a few years ago, it's likely the mistakes have been cleared up). And then there were 2. Out of maybe 400 searches (and 2-3000 results), I can remember 2 mistakes on Ixigo (since cleared up), and maybe a dozen small mistakes on cleartrip, but cleartrip was slightly more user friendly, but I still stuck with Ixigo as accuracy was more important to me, I've not used cleartrip or Ixigo enough in the last couple of years to know if user friendliness has changed. It's great to have a choice of good flight search websites. |

I have to say I'm very impressed with make my trip. The price differences between the sights is minimal. I can book train tickets, busses and flights all at the same place! Simple and easy interface, I'm sold!

i used to book tickets through yatra and makemy trip for travel between mumbai and chennai. Id usually cross check the listings id get with the airline sites them selves... the two sites are good to get an idea of the options but didnt link to all the airlines, the ones left out id search manually... i dont remember having a preference for either airline or travel site but apparently yatra.com was grateful enough to refer my name to barclays for a free cobranded platinum credit card....

I am a regular on these sites ( at least twice a week ) . My take on them :
a. Travelocity.co.in will offer you the cheapest fare - 75% of the time unless some website is having a promotion or something. b..Ezeego1 is also good and ranks second. c. Clear trip is good but mostly when they have card related deals happening . Search results are not as good though d. Makemytrip is good for schedules etc and the search results are good but they are also the MOST EXPENSIVE - always . The worse things about all these websites is that for cancellation , apart from airline charges they also add around Rs 750 as "processing fee" - so you end yup with the airline deduction PLUS the website deduction - post which there is hardly anything left if you had a cheaper ticket. Better thing to do is to use Travelocity or ezeego1 for selecting an option and then booking the ticket directly with the airline on their website. One little know site (akbartravelsonline) sometimes gives fantastic fares on GO Air . Its a part of a largish local travel agency. Hope this helps |

Rahul, you have bumped a one month old post.. Since, I made the earlier post on cleartrip, I've seen ixigo.com and would say that is the best as it guides you to the site of the airline itself..
