converting rupees to hard currency
howzit?
so my landlord to be needs IR50,000 for the deposit for an apartment. what happens in april when i leave? can i change this back to a hard currency without an 'encashment certificate' (???) or whatever it's called that they give you? if not what do i do with 50,000 pictures of mohattmas k? cheers, liam |

You could
-talk to him about adjusting some of the amount as the last few months rent. He will normally disagree, but if you push, it is possible. Some folk just stop paying rent, telling the landlord, adjust it. -50k is not a lot of money, and laws about repatriation are easier now. You could just cash money officially to cover this amount, so you have the 'encashment certificate'.
