can i get indian visa in Kathmandu?

I and a Canadian citizen and will be traveling to Kathmandu this fall for several months, and then to India for several months.

Problem is, if I get my Indian visa while still here in Canada, by the time I get to India it will only have a few months left on it, because the visa starts on the day it is issued.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to get an Indian visa while in Kathmandu?

They gave me one in 05(6ms)! Best to contact the embassy there! Should be no problem though. Takes a week though. Go check earlier , sometimes it takes less then they tell you initially!

As it's your first Indian visa, or at least the first one for a while, you may even get the full six months Indian visa, instead of the usual three for non residents; there's no way to predict this though so don't base your plans around getting six months.

Don't be put off by the website saying that only Nepali residents can get visas, they definitely do issue to visitors.
