best ISP in South Delhi?

I'm shifting to Lajpat Nagar in South Delhi and wanted to get ADSL service. Can anyone recommend any providers? Last year when I was living in Def Col, I had Airtel. The speeds were often slow, sometimes out and the service was o.k.

Some of my friends have recommended MTNL, but I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with them as far as speed and reliability goes?

We live in New Friends Colony. Had Airtel until a few days ago, but now shifted to BSNL.

Airtel was often slow, their service is poor, they overcharged us, refused to change the plan etc. etc..

So far BSNL has been satisfactory (and faster)... But will keep you updated..

i'm on mtnl. speed is ok to good and connection is decent. if it goes down during office hours they are quite responsive, but on sundays or holidays forget about it.

bsnl=mtnl?

Thank you all for the reports. If I'm not mistaken BSNL and MTNL are the same company, only MTNL operates exclusively in the Metros correct?

Also, I looked at the plans the MTNL offers, they're a little less expensive but don't offer an unlimited plan like Airtel's 256K-999 RS month scheme.

MTNL offers a 590 NU plan that offers 1GB downloads a month and unlimited downloads in the evenings. Is this a better option than Airtel's 999 RS plan?

What about customer service is it truly better than Airtel?

Also does anyone know if you need to also purchase telephone service from MTNL to get the broadband package, and how much in additional charges that would require?

Thanks again.

Hey, I'm pretty surprised to see that people prefer MTNL/BSNL over Airtel !! I have the Airtel unlimited plan -- 256 kbps/Rs 999 and its been over a year now but still no complaints !! And once I did have a problem and they had it fixed in 3 hrs time ....

I wud recomend Airtel anyday .....

Cheers

I also have the Airtel unlimited plan and have had no problems with it. For 999 a month, it's not too bad of a deal.
