Question What the best DTH Satellite / TV service for expats?

Hello knowledgeable people...

I want to pick your brains for a moment if you have time...

I want to get some sort of TV box thing and am confused about which will be the best offering and will have the most channels / best channels for English only speakers...

I will want general entertainment channels and news etc. in English

I noticed that tata Sky have the Star Channels that are good but toooo much advertising - 3 or 4 slots per 30 minute program which drives me mad... I guess if I get the skyplus box I can at least fast forward through these?

Anybody know about Airtel or other offerings?

Your feedback / experience will be much appreciated

There are various service providers in India such as Tata Sky, Dish TV from the Zee network, Airtel Digital and Sun. The channels provided by all these are essentially the same. The English channels are Star, news channels - both Indian: Times Now, CNN IBN and NDTV, as well as CNN and BBC, Discovery, HBO and Star Movies.
I have Airtel Digital, but Tata Sky is probably the best.

Thats very useful to know thanks!

I guess the best thing about tata sky is tata sky plus so you can record all your favourite stuff and then fast forward through all the adverts... definitely worth it...

The "Best" service arguably is "Airtel Digital" Dth.TATA SKY follows.
Best picture clarity is with Big DTH(but some issues with Set Top Boxes).
