My April - July 2009 trip to Hyderabad

Hi everyone... My company is sending me to India - Hyderabad for 3 months in the month of April 2009 to July 2009. I am kind of nervous. I am pure vegetarian and Jain (who doesn't eat onion - garlic etc). I can survive well in USA when I travel everywhere.. But I am not sure how it would be in my own country but different state. I am originally from Gujarat.

My company has reserved suite in Madhapur based Oysterbay group.(Oystergroup.in). From their website, they look very good. I will find out more once I will get there.

I am also planning to visit Ahmedabad during week-ends at least one in a month. My company's office in the Hitech city.

Any tips for a Gujju Jain - Vegetarian would be appreciated. I will appreciate if you will share tips on how to spend weekends in Hyderabad, food, restaurants, distance, etc. what ever you can think..

Smile Thank you

Thank you Mr Delhiwala.. This is a great web for Jains.. I am looking for such contacts. Honestly, in USA, when I go to Indian (south indian) restaurant, I get jain sambhar. And if some restaurants doesn't offer Jain sambhar, they still are helpful and make Jain Sambhar specially in 30 to 45 minutes. On my next trip, I just have to call in advance and they will make Jain Sambhar for me before I get there. But when I went to Bangalore, it was tough to get Jain Sambhar there. Most of the times, I had to eat Idli with chutney. In Gujarat, we get jain sambhar everywhere. I am not sure about Hyderabad. The link in your email is very informative. Thanks for sending.

Soujanya -- Maja ma chhu. I am fine. Yes, by this time, I have made a list of restaurant where I can go and survive
Shri Krishna Veg -- Very good jain food (north Indian food)

Chutneys -- They don't offer jain sambhar but I can eat Idly/Chutney or Dosa / Chutney.. However, they offer very good jain north Indian food.

Rajdhani -- Very good jain gujarati thali

Agrwal Sweets --> jain fast food and pani puri etc..

so far so good.
