To start with, you cannot go wrong with and must try the famous "Hyderabadi Biryani" which is Chicken cooked with saffron and spices flavored pilaf. Try it from outlets like "Paradise Biryani" or "Hyderabad House".

Though, the local cuisine is not limited to Biryani and others might chip in with other items. But this one is a must try.

Have Biryani at any good joint like Paradise in Secunderabad or Hyderabad House (various branches). Haleem (chicken/mutton grounded well & mixed with spices) is seasonal, available only during the holy month of Ramadan at various eateries. Its a must have and quite addictive! Tala Gosht (grilled mutton pieces fried additionally) is another interesting option available in eateries in central Hyderabad.

Natural Icecream at Mozamjahi market is famous though I did not fancy it much. The food court near Hussain Sagar lake offers an amazing view and good choice of food.

Hope that helps!
