Hyderabadi cyber cafes

Hello India Mikers! New to the great city of Hyderabad, arriving just two days ago. Been a lurker for a while and must say that IndiaMike is quite the resource. But now that I'm here presently, I'm in need of some help. I'm working at CCMB for the interim and am in need of a cyber cafe so I can do some proper internetting. The network here is on lockdown and all I can really do is check email and the news. Dear friends at home are agonizing over promised updates. Are there any friendly, reliable internet cafe's near CCMB that I may reach by walking or perhaps a short auto ride? I searched on foot for a NetWay Cyber Cafe yesterday but only found an India I haven't been properly introduced to yet. I was amazed and in awe all at the same time in what I saw during my two mile walk. Happy to say I survived crossing the street. Thanks to those who reply.

I had to google CCMB.

Seem to be a few colleges around there. Sure to be some. Don't expect anything fancy though. College students want cheap- which comes with cramped spaces, no airconditioning, bad equipment and furniture- and iffy speeds sometimes.

Best to just ask a middle class-ish teenager where the good ones are.

Given that its been 10 days, you've probably figured out something...

There is a cybercafe's right across the CCMB main entrance; Behind the Narula's restaurant.
You could walk up to Habshiguda crossroad (take a left when from the CCMB entrance). There are quite a few cybercafe's right by the crossroad.

If you go up to Tarnaka street #1 (make a right at CCMB, go about 1.5 kms), there is a good one right at the corner of street #1 and the main road. Its above the Sudarshan Reddy Sweet store.

Hey, thanks a lot. Have had limited success. I found another one south on Habsiguda the other day and one by Domino's on Mallapur but these two you mentioned eluded me. Narula's looks like its closed for good but didn't walk behind to check on the cyber cafe but rather continued up towards the Big Bazaar because I wanted some cheese and found the other at Street #1 you mentioned. Went in and computed for a few minutes. Thanks. This was fair enough and only Rs.15/hour. Better than the 30 I paid for the half hour next to some coffee shop on Habsiguda. (They did games and video rentals as well - not really set up for by-the-hour).

Need to travel because CCMB has restricted site access. Do wifi cafes exist in Hyderabad, or anywhere in India for that matter? In the states you can buy a cup of coffee then compute on your own laptop to your hearts content by wireless. Just wondering. Thanks again. Top notch info.
