Hyderabad Tennis
Hi
I will be in Hyderabad for business for around 8 weeks starting end of August. As a mad keen tennis player with a tournament shortly after I return home, I would like to hook up with a club / coach while in Hyderabad. Could anyone recommend a coach / club / group in Hyderabad? Looking for standard around ITN 4-5 level. Also, can anyone recommend a hotel which either has a tennis court or is at least close to one? I will be working at the new airport. Cheers Rowena |

I think your best bet may be the tennis academy/setup at LBS (Lal Bahadur Shastri) Stadium near Abids. No idea about level of coaching, but I would think serious players land up there.
Your problem may be that the new airport is being built quite a distance from anywhere, and commuting times to a decent city hotel will be high, (edit: about 2 hours one way during office hours) not least because of traffic Cant recall any hotel with a tennis court. Some will be not more than 5 km from one, 10 mins drive early morning.

Country Club, RSI club, Secunderabad club, Fateh maidan club (what Capt Mahajan mentioned), Nizam club, Jubilee club, officer's club are a few clubs, which sport Tennis courts and Tournaments. But at RSI club, Secunderabad club,Jubilee club and Officer's club you can only play as a guest of a member not otherwise.
CC and Nizam club might give you a monthly membership... Plus there are many academies if you're interested to learn...like Ace academy, Mahadhapur Tennis court (i don't recollect the exact name)... |

Dear Amyth,
You missed out Asif Tennis Club, which was established in the year 1887. :-) Dear Mr.Nelson, You have NOT named the Hotel where you are going to stay for 8 weeks!!! By the way, the Holiday-Inn Krishna Hotel has a Tennis Club attached!!!! |

According to google, there are three main tennis places in Hyderabad.
The one that seems to fit your needs is Ganesh Raman Tennis Centre in Bowenpally it's in Manovikas Nagar in the Parkview Enclave phone number is 91 41 2776 7655. Mobile 91 9980138839. Hope this helps.

Hi, i am going to hyderabad for a month (July-August) during the summer...I am an avid tennis player in California and am ranked top forty in the state for girls 16's. If anyone wants to hit maybe twice or three times a week, that would be great! I am a 4.0-4.5 tennis player.

Tennis in Hyderabad
ghia93
Hi, I was looking for a tennis partner as well this summer. I play top JV for my high school this year, and if you are interested we can play at the Nizam Club. I will also be in Hyderabad from July to August, so we can coordinate times to play twice or thrice a week. P.S. - Food is really great at Nizam Club! ![]() |
