Hyderabad Srisailam Tirupati Trip

Hi all,
Thank you all for my last thread on tirupati trip.
I have one query for the trip of GOA-HYDRABAD-SRISAILAM-TIRUPATI-GOA.
How is the bus frequency between Hydrabad to Srisailam. Are there any luxury/Volvo buses plying etween them. Is there any train which ould take me to Tirupati from Srisailam. I think there is no direct train, but any connecting train or so. Or is there bus service (preferably Volvo or else Luxury) between srisailam to tirupati.

actually iam flying from Goa to Hydrabad on 4th Feb and planing to return from Tirupati to Hubli by Haripriya express on 11th Even(from Tirupati). in between i would like to have some sight seeing in Hydrabad, Darshan at srisailam and tirupati.

Please provide your valuable opinion on this.

Dear Samkul,
You will get direct Buses from Srisailam to Tirupati, Luxury Services OR could be hligh-tech, but you will NOT get Volvos.

From Hyderabad to Srisailam there are Luxury/Hi-tech Buses only with a very good frequency including overnight service. But, if you take overnight service, you will miss the beautiful ghat section/forest journey.

So, after reaching Srisailam from Hyderabad (250 Kms.), perhaps, you may:-
(i) take direct service to Tirupati, as explained;
(or)
(II)take a bus to Kurnool (180 Kms.) and then get into 7697 Venkatadri Express:-

@@@The thing is, even if you comeback to Hyderabad, you may have to take the same train, the shortest from Hyderabad!!!!!!

If you like to drive, I would suggest that you drive from Hyderabad to Srisailam. It is a wonderful, uncrowded all the way. And of course the excellent ghat section.

Thanks a lot both of you for the opinion.
One question, how will be rush in Tirupati on 10th Feb and 11th feb? I am planing to leave Hydrabad on 9th evening reach Tirupati 10th Morning and return journey on 11th Even by Haripriya Exp. so in the span mentioned above will i be able to get the darshan?

One more query, How much will the taxi cost for one day seight seeing tour in Hydarabad?

1 day taxi in Hyd can be about 850/-. 8 hrs.

Which train are you taking to TPTY? Please see the other couple of Tirupati threads to get detailed info on how to have darshan and options available. If you have further questions based on that, let me know.

My flight is arriving HYD at 4.30 PM from calcutta and I want to proceed to srisailam after that. I was told by a travel tour agent that road is closed during night time. Is that correct? if yes then when do normally CAR/TAXI starts from Hyderabad?

I was thinking of catchin VENKATADRI EXP, 2797 - VENKATADRI EXP
from KURNOOL STATION at night 11PM.
Can some one pleas etell me if this is possible to get frequent bus/taxi service from SRISAILAM to KURNOOL during evening hours and what is the typical durationof drive.

Any idea about economy Hotel lodge near airport or any place easily accessible from airport?

Probably your trip is already completed but this may be useful to some other people.

Your travel agent is absolutely wrong. You can hire a taxi at any time you want. I suggest you to go to Kurnool by a bus. Every 15 minutes once you will find a bus from Hyderabad to Kurnool.

It will take roughly 5 hours from Srisailam to Kurnool for a bus. For a car it may take 4 hours. Dont worry if you dont find a bus which goes directly to Kurnool. In every 30 min, a bus goes from Srisailam to Dornala which is in between Kurnool and Sailam. There you can find a bus to Kurnool or Atmakur which is on the route to Kurnool.

I am coming to Hyderabad from Delhi by A.P.Express which is reaching at 7.30PM.
I am with family,is it possbile to go to Srisailam same night or to stay for a night at hyderabad.
Is good accomodation is available at Srisailam.
What is the comfortable mode of travel from Srisailam to Tirupati?

Accomodation at Srsailam is available in AP tourist rest house Punnami. I think it's about Rs500 for a double. The temple has some rooms vailable for Rs 150 per day. Unless it's a festival season, you can get accomodation easily. AP tousist hotel caN BE booked form HYD itself after your arrival in HYD. From HYD yo Srisailam it's 6 hours journey by bus. APSRTC runs these buses and can be booked after you arrive in HYD.
From srisailam to tirupati, there are buses. can be booked after you to srisailam. As srisailam is not connected by rail. You have to go to Kurnool to catch a train to Tirupati, I think.

Dunno about Srisalam/Tirupathi, but

Srisailam is about 230km from Hyderabad, 5 hours by road. The nearest railway station is about 70km away, if I remember right, (Marakpur)

Perhaps it is better to stay overnight at Hyderabad. Part of the road is through the sanctuary, and it sometimes closes in the evening, or we were told so.

Buses will be available too, or a taxi can be hired

There is a AP Tourism run hotel, no great shakes.

Not many other options.. the temples run some 'choultries'; we stayed within the Sanctuary in pretty peaceful surroundings, (cant do without own transport) but the accomodation wasn't great either, and getting food was a problem, miles from anywhere.
But they may be better organised now, this was two years ago.

Even if the AP Express gets to Hyderabad on time it would be difficult to get to Srisailam.

Kurnool seems to be about 115kms from Srisailam.

What day are you leaving Delhi?

Train 2708 (AP Sampark Kranti) departs Nizamuddin (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday only) at 07:30 and gets to Kurnool at 13:22 the following day.

2A = Rs 1921
3A = Rs 1376
SL = Rs 509


Train 2797 departs Kurnool daily at 23:40 and gets to Tirupati at 07:30 the following morning.

2A = Rs 709
3A = Rs 518
SL = Rs 204


NOTE...if you are staying at Srisailam for 3 nights or less, you can book the above 2 trains using the 'break of journey' rules and save a lot of Rupees.

The combined fare if booked using the 'break of journey' rules would be: - (the amount saved in brackets)

2A = Rs 2097 (Rs 533)
3A = Rs 1508 (Rs 386)
SL = Rs 567 (Rs 146)
