Hyderabad mid June - mid July

Hi. Am set to spend a month working in Hyderabad and have a couple of questions:

I was there during March this year and spent weekend free time in and around the city - Charminaar, Golconda and pretty much most of the local attractions etc. This time, any recommendations for an overnight trip? Am interested in anything and everything. Guide book awaits me when I get back there but would be glad to receive personal recommendations for a 2 day trip June/July time.

Also, when do the rains start?? Info I have says rain only in July, so I fancy my chances of a bit of dry weather at the beginning of my stay. Presume, in any case, that it will be a lot more humid than during my last visit.

Oh H. is hotter than hades at this time. I will recommend against Horsely Hills as an alternative (its a dump). Vizag may be bearable or even further up that coast. Hampi will be miserable sad to say..

The monsoon has already set in Hyderabad. We had a few pre-monsoon showers already and in fact most hyderabadis feel that there has hardly been any summer this year.

In any case active monsoon starts of on June 7th normally and this year is expected to set in a couple of days early. Therefore it is nowhere near "Hotter than Hades".

For weekend trips, Tirupati and Vizag can be good bets. Do you prefer by train or are you OK by roads? Some places will get you a better feel by roads. Places like Adilabad, Konaseema etc can be good places to explore by road.

I am not sure what that is relative to. I have been through several such summers. My people were complaining of the heat recently. I hope it is cooler now. However, I have seen it challenging even in July..

Hyderabad was topping 34-35 degrees throughout this week, with light rains in the evening. I guess monsoon will set in sometime next week. Weather right now is pleasant in the mornings and evenings, and moderately warm during the day.

in non-weatherman lingo, quite cooler than what you normally expect on last week of may!

Dear Fea,
Your observations:-
"..Hi. Am set to spend a month working in Hyderabad"
----
"..but would be glad to receive personal recommendations for a 2 day trip June/July time."
==============
@@@During your month's stay in Hyderabad, it is NOT at all a big deal to plan a two-day trip out of Hyderabad, more so, when July is a slack season and it is NOT that difficult to secure Bus/Train/Flight Tickets!!!!
==========
But if you are planning only a two-day trip, then go for SRISAILAM in the conducted-tour of A.P.Tourism Development Corporation....starts on Saturday-morning and concludes on Sunday-evening. You will enjoy this trip.
