i would like to know how good is the stay at the youth hostel @ hyderabad. i coudnt find any reviews on the same, so thought i'd just drop a post here []
we are planning to travel as 3 families, 2 of them with kids. is this a good place to stay? all we need is a budget accommodation which is pretty neat and decent. so, has anyone here been to this particular youth hostel? please let me know

did you go?

Hi Sudha,

Did you go to the youth hostel? We are a family with a 9 year-old-daughter, thinking of stopping in Hyderabad, so I'm wondering about accom etc.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

We are thinking about being there in January. Our itinerary is still not fixed, so we're still at the planning stage.

HYD Youth Hostel

Stay at Hyderabad Youth Hostel may not be a good option from my point of view. It's very basic. I stayed in New Delhi, Veli and vishakapatnam Youth Hostels earlier. When compared with these hostels Hyderabad hostel is very basic.

It is situated next to the Hussian Sagar.

"Yatri Niwas" is the best option. But don't have any idea on the rates.

@manishrvarma
thanks for the information. so you have stayed there? nice to find some one who has stayed there. is it clean? i understand the amenities are quite basic, but still if its neat, i think its still under consideration coz of the wallet factor for us its anything multiplied by fifteen (3 rooms 5 days) so lesser the better

@capt_mahajan
thanks for that link, i think i had read about yatri nivas but didnt consider it because we were looking for sub 1k rooms. may be i should consider this if i dont get anything in the range i am looking for.

Hi Ms.Sudha,

If you have already stayed in any of the youth hostels, you know the standard of the youth hostels. Then it's alright, you can "manage"!

As you said you are travelling with family and kids, I thuoght it's not better.

btw. Cosndier these things.

1. Carry your own bedsheets (if possible)
2. You must carry Mosquito coils (it is located next to the hussain Sagar, so many mosquitos)
3. Carry candles (Occasionally power cuts may be there)
4. Book your rooms in advance.

Visit the follwoing link and get the details.
