hyderabad car rentals

we were looking for travelling options on our 5-6 day trip to hyderabad. i checked quite a few car rental services online, but many of the reviews on them say they are not prompt. with quite a few ppl in the group (including kids) i obviously cant afford to wait on the road for the cab to reach.
so i was just thinking of another option, does any one know of something like car stands where you can just go in and hire a car? there used to be many such places in india earlier, but in bangalore i have never seen anything like that. do we get cars just off the road (perhaps a taxi stand by the side of the road) at hyderabad? any idea?

You wont find them in Hyderabad either.

Pick up a tours and travels fellow and finalize a deal. Based on the places you wanted to cover and the time taken, decide if you want the same car for all your 5-6 days trip or would hire one based on your requirement.

Do let me know if you need any help. I can give you a couple of names who are seasoned cab operators in Hyderabad.

By the way, 5-6 days tour in Hyderabad? If its for sight seeing alone, then you may not require anything more than 3-4 days.

@bsprasad, thanks a lot for the response..
it would be very nice if you could provide the contact info of any reliable tour operators in hyd. actually, its like many reviews scared me off the advance booking done through the net. waiting for the cab to arrive after paying the amount on the net would be the last thing any one would want to do
its not like we need the same car everyday. rather, we dont have a clear idea as yet. its only in the planning phase as of now. we are a group of 6 adults and 2 kids including two elderly people. so we cant take any risks either.
that is exactly why we planned for 5-6 days. so that we dont have to rush during the tour. but do you really think 5-6 days is un-necessary?? is there no places to see in those days? we would like to have some sight seeing, some shopping and visiting a friend there. i thought we'd need 5 days for all those. we have 5 and a half to be precise (as we need to reach the airport by around 12-45 on the 6th day)
please let me know your suggestions
thanks in advance
suds

No issues,

I will send you a detailed list of places in and around hyderabad. I will also try and work out a detailed plan so that you enjoy your sightseeing all the 5-6 days and at the same time dont tire yourself.

For starters, let it be like this. You can hire a call taxi in the station or airport when you arrive in hyderabad. Based on the best plan we both agree, we can hire the cabs, as and when required.

You are ok with this idea or do you have anything else interesting in mind.

Do let me know the following...

1. what is your mode of arrival in Hyd
2. when are you arriving.
3. Have you booked your accomodation

Regards

No Sudha,

I worked in Hyderabad for nearly 6-7 years. Still got a lot of friends whom I visit frequently.
