Also definitely worth trying in Hyderabad is the early morning breakfast of sheep trotter soup (not really Paya)and Sheermal.

Just look out for the cauldron simmering away in front of many Irani Hotels throught the year.

Some hotels also serve Gurda-Kaleji (kidney-liver) curry and roti for breakfast if you ask inside.

Khabura is Afghan. I'll get the name of the family Biryaani place. My neice entertains for the marketing set and could write a book on this topic. A distant location is the Rajasthani theme park! Of course, you know what type of food..

I asked for Bheja Fry(a preparation of lamb's brain) at Shabad and was told that it is available only for breakfast. Due to their popularity many eateries in Delhi serve typical breakfast foods like Nahari through out the day. Eateries of Hyderabad seem to stick to the tradition.

all in all, a far superior experience to yer stuffy ac options...

The best Haleem during Ramzan is available at Pista House, these guys are so popular that they even put up a stall in LifeStyle building last year on public demand.

And if somebody is a slave to North Indian and Punjabi food, check out Angeethi above Barista on Banjara hills. The ambience offers a true flavor of punjab with sign boards of sex-tantriks to meat butchers to auto repair shops...the menu card is in the form of a news-paper, packed with funny vernacular humour. Worth a visit!!

And if you don't know what Talwaar Kebabs are, you are missing the best kebabs available at Gufa- Ohri's in Basheerbagh.

ummm...I am already feeling hungry

Thanks a lot friends. Malgudi, cafe bahar, Rayalseema Ruchulu, Gufa- Ohri's shortlisted.
Amyth the Talwaar kabab intrigues me. Living in Delhi I have had fair interconnection with kababs of various types. Can you please enlighten me a bit on this kabab?
A meet up in Hyderabad won't be a bad idea it seems.

Well..as the name suggests these are probably the most delectable kebabs i have ever tasted, served skewed on a TALWAAR (sword), the presentation is as interesting as the meat itself- deadly meat on a lethal weapon! Worth dying for

Great!! Have a great time and do let me know your experience...and and ... Ohri has 3 levels, Gufa is on the second level, for deserts, you can walk down to the ground level to Havmor and try some awesome icecream sundaes, say, Tatanic or Lewinsky if the names dont intimidate you . But a word of caution these portions are very large, good enough for 2-3 ppl. The smaller portions are equally good though.

And Basheerbagh is right in the heart of city, anybody who has been in Hyd more than a month will be able to direct you with ease!!
