Hyderabad airport hotels

I recently needed information about hotels in or near Hyderabad, but could not find much, so here are some information.

Novotel a few km east of Hyderabad airport.
- walking too far, road too big
- pricy
- dishonest advertising, their website says: "From 3000 INR/Night" but the 3000 is only for a day stay.
+ free 20 minute airport shuttle
+ outdoor Swimming pool
+ Gym
- which seems to require extra payment
+ Good restaurant

The normal room ended up at almost 8000 INR without internet and breakfast. The premium room was just 9200 INR but did seem to have internet and breakfast and complementary drinks at the premium lounge. (prices are with taxes)

They got 2 men to pick me up at the airport, got me on the VIP lift to the VIP car park and then I was driven to the hotel in what looked like 5 minutes. Not much walking and no carrying. This pickup seemed to be inclusive in my room price, since I asked how much it was and they said complementary. Tomorrow I expect to be driven back.

Pool has a nice temperature, the roof top pool in The Park Hotel Chennai was too hot for my taste. Just 4 feet deep though (5 in The Park chennai). Cleaning once a week, The Park Chennai was every morning, and it was much cleaner, but also no where near flowers, trees and other plants. Novotel Hyderabad has a special child pool with a slide, The Park Chennai had nothing.

Food in "Haldi" (name) Indian cuisine restaurant was lovely, just as good as The Park Chennai, but cheaper, 699 for a menu with drink, soup, 2x non veg + 1x veg, bread and dessert. Portions was 2 pieces of meat + "sauce". I got 5x bowls the size of my fist. Didnt try the other International cuisine restaurant.

512 kB/s internet seems to be free for at least me, but others might have to pay. If I want faster speeds I can pay. I like this option. Also internet prices was cheaper than The Park Chennai.

The alternative is the Plaza Premium lounge right next to the airport. I think it is placed out, down, and to the left, where as the taxies are to the right.

I havent seen it but I took a flyer from their booth inside the domestic exit area.

Located within the airport boundary but not in the terminal building :
2) Airport Lodge (look under "others" on this page http://www.hyderabad.aero/airport-facilitie.aspx) [Complimentary airport shuttle bus is available, not to be confused with the AeroExpress]
3) Hotel Novotel Airport (http://www.novotelhyderabadairport.com) [Caution : Do not call it only Novotel as all locals in Hyderabad will think of the other one located in HiTec City area, call this one as Novotel Airport, stress on the word airport else you may end up 25 km away].

Located just outside the airport boundary :
4) Hotel First Transit at Shamshabad
5) There are a few more lodges / guest houses / hotels at Shamshabad but fall under the ordinary budget category.
PS : Shamshabad is the town/village from where one leaves the road/highway to enter the airport boundary.
