Baba420, do you have any Bed and Breakfasts to recommend to the original poster? If so, please share them here, rather than offering to "hook you up"... ![]()

I think it means staying in someone's home - a homestay as they call it in India.

I think most of any such hotel designations don't necessarily mean much of anything in an Indian context really.
Anyway, Rajesh had already specified he meant it to mean a homestay. But it would help if people asking would specify what they mean yes -- it's often impossible to tell. (And no, even in India, a B&B isn't the same thing as a homestay. Though to define either would be hard indeed, for the reasons mentioned. For that matter, there are many definitions of the concept of "homestay" alone; as there would again be of any of the other categories. Five star, four star, no star -- yes, but what does it mean exactly? Often impossible to say, indeed. You may find a couple-of-stars-place a really excellent-value budget place, or always vice versa, of course. See also some earlier thoughts of mine on the homestay concept as such btw: Cannot believe this quote - Homestays in Kerala? Which were never affirmed nor disproved, it must be said -- although there was some confirmation there.
