Any places to play basketball in Hyderabad?

Hi, i'm new to this website and I've decided to try it out. I'm originally from the states and am currently working in Hyderabad for a year. I'm a huge basketball fan and I've been dying to play since i've been here. Does anyone know any good courts that are open to the public where I can find a pickup game? I don't mind paying an entrance fee if needed be. Also, is there currently anyone out there that would like to join me in finding a court and possibly meeting up to play on the weekends, or are there any existing members that already meet up to play? I currently am staying near the Begumpet area and am open to hearing any locations by that area.

If you were living in Mumbai or Delhi, I could help - I was playing on a weekly basis in both places. I've been living in Hyd for the last year, and I've given up trying to find a good place to play. In Mumbai/Delhi I used to play at the American School indoor courts, and we had great runs. Perhaps you can try at one the International schools here....doubt it though!

Thanks, that bums me out. I've only been hearing about the YMCA in Secunderabad, however I thought that it was only for little kids. Does anyone know about this place or know if all ages go to play here (preferably young adults).

There are decent courts at Jayabheri Silicon Towers in Madhapur/HITEC City. You'll need to know someone that lives there to use them.

I am facing the same problem, I am from IIT Bombay rescently shifted to Hyderabad, and every weekend I travell all the way to Gymkhana gound(near Paradise) for playing basketball.I am staying in Kondapur, if u have found any descent court anywhere else please let me know. I am dieing to play some quality game.

Sorry I still haven't found any courts. How are the Gymkhana courts? Can you provide me any information on them... are there a lot of people, does it cost anything, hours of op...etc? Do you normally go on the weekends? I saw where Kondapur on a map, that's a long drive. I'll let you know if I find anymore information on other courts.

There is a basketball court available in madhapur where we can play basketball to maintain physical fitness, but we need to form a team of 8 members so we would be given permission to play there.I have taken the initiative.If people are really intrested just leave me a msg here.Children are also welcome if training is needed its just a honarary service kind of.u can mail me at krp_jordan@yahoo.co.in

I am also looking to get some basketball on and would love to start playing again. I am close to Ameerpet but wouldn't mind trekking a little out for a game. Madhapur sounds just fine.

Would also love to catch some NBA games with others, but don't know any places that air them.

Guys Meridian school,madhapur has basketball,tennis court.They allow outsiders to play week-ends.To play basketball first 8members are allowed with only 500/ per mnth.People who joins aftr tht needs to pay 1000/ per mnth..so hurry up .its the best offer u can get near by.join the club and let play hard bb...rockin

Props to krp_jordan for not giving up on his basketball dreams! A couple of us finally got to play some basketball thanks to him. It would be great to get more guys to join in. Also, if there are any interested members who have some clout with the IT bigwigs of hi-tech city, can you make it possible for them to open up their wonderful courts to outsiders for limited windows on weekends? Such a tragedy to see all those courts lying fallow.

One big problem in finding courts and players has been the lack of a visible forum (excepting, of course, this thread on indiamike) where we can express interest and discover places to play. With the hope that something more constant and focused would help, we have started a facebook page:
