Worst Toilet Experience
Worst Toilet Experience
i was watching Trainspotting few days back and couldn't ignore the part where they show the worst toilet of scotland. i could recall few instances where i have faced few that were no better than that one.
one of them was in birahana road area of Kanpur. after that i wased my hands 10 times and took a long bath after reaching home.
has anyone got similar exp. it will be better if you share it with pictures.
i know this thread is crapy but ...
a bar in jodhpur, can't remember the name.
the bar was seedy, but it was too dark to notice if it was clean. the toilet however was the most disgusting i've ever seen. it had stuff (i refuse to dwell on what) smeared everywhere, urine all over the floor. the toilet was broken.
it looked like it had possibly never been cleaned.

When I was about 15, been to a public toilet in Madurai. That one visit was good enough for a lifetime.. Since then, dont think I have ever been to a public toilet in India..

Petra in Jordan - 48 degrees Celsius - what a great place to get a dose of the explosive Pharoah's Revenge (having just come over from Egypt the day before) - and not a Western toilet to be found anywhere - and I had barely made it inside the site, let alone to the monastry up at the top of the mountain.
Not unsurprisingly I spent the next 3 days on IV fluids and anti-biotics in hospital

it is my opinium that you need stomach to travel through asia especially if you travel your own, your sensitivity can get hurted before your health, in 4 months I have been in india I used a public toilet only a couple of times, once I went only for a pee to be knocked off by an unpleasant surprise, for being a 3 stars restaurant the toilet was flooded with dead bodies floating.
China, defenitely China.

Any place which is meant as a urinal that someone has taken a crap in and left it without washing away
As I was waiting, in the car, for Mrs N to buy prawns from the fish market the other day, smells of fish wafting over from one side, and toilet smells from the road where I was parked, I reflected that any toilet might have been a good idea.

hmm, toss up between the toilet in the restaurant building at the top of the stairs at elephanta which you can smell from outside the building; and one at a dhaba somewhere between jopphur and agra that was so foul and also so complicated that i'd need to draw a diagram to explain it.
hmmm I seem to recall an extremely unpleasant thunder loo in the abad towers, trivandrum after having a 'pleasant' meal with some indian mates, i had to respond to natures call and i found the loo by the smell (hmmm should have heeded the warning) but when i opened the door, I had to dodge the low flying cockroaches and other delights resting in the thunder bowl, needless to say I didnt hand around and I can still see it now.... YUK YUK!
self cleaning toilet!
In Namche Bazaar in Nepal I remember an early morning interlude with the outhouse and seeing something moving down there. It was some starving cow that had propped his head up under the squat-hole. As I looked down I could see him liking my deposit off the top of his nose.
On the border of India and Nepal I had to use another loo, and it was basically a yellow ochre colored boiling soup of maggots.
My favorite was jumping off a bus outside of Kathmandu to run into the forest to relieve myself. I didn't have paper, so I pulled large bunches of leaves off the surrounding trees. Made a rather pleasant experience as the forest was Marijuana plants.
