the BEST thing in India
What is the BEST thing in India?
What is the Best thing about India?
What is the Absolute expirience there?
To me I would say the Carefreenes of being a backpacker. Waking up to the sound of templemusic in rajastan going for a breakfast on the roof only to continue to some coffieplace to play some chess, read your book and so forth, watch the sunset, just wonder in amazment over the beauty of things. Sky turning purple, walking by houses hearing chanting again, humid heat and wondering stars....
Or beeing on a beach by a fire. Someone telling a story of something the light, the stars, maybe you wonder of for a limca, than go back to your mudhutt and hammock for a midnight sleep only to wake later for a morning swim.
The simplicety and beauty of things indeed.

That religion.(ready for the onslaught) I have never seen such a celebration of God (gods) life and the universe .The archeticture (temples), so flamboyant and immense. The festivels , colour and passion and everybody joins in ,or so it seems. It apears to have something for every part of sociaty , I have never seen such a turnout .It seems to run India .Ring that bell!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOS: Missing Person...
Please look at this thread, even if you are not in India.: Have you seen Jonathan Spollen?
He could be anywhere now: You might have met him, be able to help, or give information.

mera bharat mahaan
the best thing about india is her variety - dresses, culture, fashion, movies, history, geography, cuisine - you name it, she has it. mera bharat mahaan - even today, despite the corruption and atrocities we see around us.

i am so with you on this one tony.i think it was beach in another thread who described india as a giant laboratory for wierdness - that's it for me.
Thanks Somnath: I was wondering if I'd misspelt it...
Like the Cuckoo, it's name is onomatapeic (bet I've spelt that wrong
) and it's deep voice echoes and fills the entire area
But then, this is one of the big differences that I only realised coming back to London this time: English birds tweet gently, Indian birds SHOUT.
Except for seagulls. Nothing gentle about a seagull. Especially the Newlyn Seagulls. Rude, Loud birds, seagulls... ... ... ...
