be careful.

hippies ARE scary, and may annoy you with games.

if you are very unlucky they may even speak to you

the corruption is everywhere.

But what about the middle class Indians, they're cool, just like the hippies that went to uni and flipped out for a bit then found IT, wo hippi in the apartment hi ho. Well anyone that waves incense about and puts colour on their fore heads just has to be a hippi, actually Catholic Priests do the incense bucket and play with beads, wo hippi.

That's it there are more hippi's than non hippi's, peace and love man
..Thats a very presumptious statement to make ..."all Indians are hippies"..hilarious actually...What according to you defines a 'hippie"? As an Indian myself, Im cracking up at the stand you take!
Can I derive from what you've just said, that A middle class sari clad lady, who's got things like "what subzi shall I cook tonight," or where can I get a good deal on Dhara cooking oil and Red label chai", becomes a hippie?
As for the "musicians and people that sell stuff on the streets", you dont actually believe they sit around pulling on their chillums and talking about the cosmos and karma , do you? They're too busy trying eke out a living.

"That's it there are more hippi's than non hippi's, peace and love man"...

Hm...think a few more trips to India could do you some good..
btw..whats a non-hippie?I get this labelling a bit mixed up..

on how to avoid being hurt by hippies

it is much simplier than it looks.
if you encounter a hippie just put together your index fingers,
close your eyes and say (quietly) "z-z-z-z". that's it! it was tested
and works - hippies won't do you any harm.

Actually, I've got to come clean and say that the hippies here are a real nuisance. Allways buzzing around (even worse when they're silent), trying to get inside your clothes, trying to bite you in the night, often succeeding. They can make life really miserable.

People will say that some chemicals keep them away, but I don't believe anything does actually.

Wait! I'm a bit confused here, I think... Maybe it's mosquitos I'm thinking of

As one becomes older the hair starts to grow inwards. This condition is exasperated by getting haircuts! If the inward growing hair doesn't hit anything solid it disappears inside and baldness or fuzzy thinking results. If it encounters anything firm, the hair starts growing outward again, but turns grey. Now you know why many government workers seem to exhibit fuzzy thinking.

Am sure you're going to ask about monks with shaved heads? They are kept busy meditating and chanting just to offset the effects of their hairless state. During travels to India in the seventies, I clipped my long tresses so as not to be taken for a hippie and discriminated against. This time I've only had the split ends trimmed for the sake of neatness. When you're past sixty it's easier to get away with a bit of eccentricity.

tresses

I've just been to a yoga class where half way through the class i understood what was "wrong" with the instructor's short haircut: she had "tresses". the remaining part of the class i kept looking at them trying to figure out how exactly one achieves such hair.

any tips? do you have to go to a hairdresser for a special treatment or you can DIY? thanks

A decent troll spices up life. Special note for Stephen but I also enjoyed Wanderer's "hair today, gone tomorrow" even if it is painfully true for me..

Scared of hippies?
WHY?

The true hippies are the only living beeings of the planet you know...
And your not a hippie just course you like to smoke dope and bum around...

Definitions of hippy on the Web:
hippie: someone who rejects the established culture; advocates extreme liberalism in politics and lifestyle.

Peace out and tune in.

I was a hippie when I was a teenager & I turned out ok after all. However, maybe that's why I married an Indian, to return to nirvana! Now i got all the incense, bedspreads, bells, chappals, brown rice, sarees stuff i could possibly want. No bhang, or the other fun stuff though. oh thats right, the guru said you had to do it straight anyway.

I just made my husband watch Easy Rider, he loved the motorcycles, didn't get or like the rest of the movie. He gets & loves the Matrix tho, so i still love him!
