Saga of trucks
Hi IMs
Recently I went to Hampi from Bangalore. It was a road trip. Around 10 KMs before Hospete, the was a huge traffic jam and all the trucks were stuck. It was a double road so first we decided not to break traffic rules and stay in our lane. But after waiting for 45 mins the driver got restless and jumped into the lane from which traffic was supposed to from from Hospete. Surprisingly, we covered 5 KMs and the jam was still there. Moreover, we did not cross any vehicle which was coming to our side. Exactly at that time we saw something. A truck was just waiting in front of us. This truck blocked all the traffic coming to our side. We could not see anyone in the truck. When we honked, two guys showed their faces to us for 5 secs but again got lost inside their truck. We inquired about the issue. Any guesses what was it? They lost the key for the truck and they had been searching for it for from last so many hours to create such a huge traffic Jam. Great!!!!. Driver scratched his head and moved car on the roadside mud and started driving. Now we not able to get the free lane because the trucks going in both the directions were waiting there. Still there was a mystery left. The traffic coming from Hospete was stuck due to the 'key lost trucker' but what was the issue with the traffic going to Hospete? We drove for around 3 KMs and then there was no way left for the car to move ahead. It was getting late so we started walking and left the driver with the car. Around walking for 2 KMs, the lane of trucks ended abruptly. We checked to see any issues with that trucker. May be another key loser? But he had the key because he was sitting in the truck comfortably. Any guesses why he stopped suddenly on the road with no complains from the trucks on his back? It was dinner time and he was cooking and eating it. Not only this, when we noticed carefully, all of the truckers were doing the same thing... All of them were so cool. It was so funny that you drive a truck and we you want to eat something you stop in the middle of road to create a 10 KM long traffic Jam, along with the support of hundreds of your kind!!! Raising our eyebrows, we walked further to hire an auto and then reached our Hotel. Few of us got frustrated by this but I can't stop me from appreciating the humor in this. ![]() |

Jindal Vijaynagar Steel (I think its that one, or another Jindal outfit?) is at Bellary. That is the reason the road condition is so lousy (amongst the worst I have seen in India) and crowded around there.
