Run!!!The Ear Cleaners are coming!!!!

Actually I never thought of ear cleaning till I moved and live in an area here in PA that has the Amish. There is something called Ear Cleaning or Candelling as they call it.

They use a bees wax candle (most common) and they light one end and use the drippings and smoke to clean the ears of built-up wax.

I have never tried it but it is a common practice.

But shoving a dirty rag in one's ears sounds so bad. reminds me of teh guys who just show up and clean your car windows.

So you go halfway around the world, to a country where--according to the guidebooks--you have to be vaccinated against cholera, you can't brush your teeth with local water, the monkees will give you rabies, and the men will grope you, and you let a perfect stranger stick a metal instrument into your ear canal!!??!!!

People worry about dust on their digital camera's sensors (no offense to any current posters), BUT NOT ABOUT A PUNCTURED EARDRUM?

I've just realised why there are ear-cleaners in India:

Its because not many people have a set of car keys...
