NB Whilst I personally am mindful of taboos in other peoples cultures, this was after all an awareness campaign about a (mostly) sexually transmitted disease. Wake up zealots! |

Unbelievable. Perhaps even more strange is the caption to the photo... "Actor Richard Gere (L) kisses Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty". As if there is any doubt which one is which.

when i read the title of this post, i first saw "Kiss causes protesters to burn effigies..." and thought it was referring to the band, not the display of affection. i thought maybe big devotees of Kali were pissed about Gene Simmons' tongue action, makeup, etc. though i was wondering why it took 30+ years to arouse such ire...
