recently i attended the durga puja with my friends and it was such a fun...
there r so many people all geared to celebrate the return of the divine goddess durga.....from the centuries , both men n women have worshipped the goddess as a means to acquire power n strength. she is also known as shakti cause it is believed that she is more powerful than any other male god as she rescued the male gods frm the threats posed by one of the dark demon andhakasur. it is believed that everyear during the month of october she visits her fathers home....n in order to honour the shakti (as she is lovingly called) people dance... sing.....blow horns ..beat gongs....play with colours.....and so on ... everything was colourful.......everyone was full of life....n energy... a lot of excitement was generating within me as it was my first time...all together quite a wonderful experience as i get to interact with new people... their culture.....dig into bengali cuisine..... so if anyone of u ever get a chance to be there do attend it ...... ![]() |
