well...
Scorpion on my foot... Rat falling from the roof and in to our house (yuck) Slamanders (one got squshed in the window once, not pretty) Big crazy gecko (this was in thailand though) Ehm... Cockroaches... Some spiders (this was in a mudhutt though) Mosquitos (Malarias evil twin)...

But the worst I had was on acid one night, snakes , 100s of ants and all kind of things, hell, even the floor was cracking up, beathing sort of thing, eventually I had to leave the house for the beach...

Having this said, most creatures are verry nice and polite and will stay on the wall if they can.

Coming back to Dharamsala the same thing struck me : the way the dogs are treated is the first thing I think of as the Tibetan way. Every day I on the way to the National Archive Iwould meet first Monchi (who actually had a name and owner) and later the informal guardians who always used the left hand bench at the main entrance. Occasionally someone came and pretended to be angry at them : no one believed in it.

An animal ON my room?

Yes; monkeys fooling around on the tiled roofs of my hotel rooms at Mahabaleshwar, Matheran, Barog, Chail and Kasauli; and creating quite a din !!!
