Thats a new one - Trivandrapuram - a mix of the british Trivandrum & Indian Thiruvanthapuram - more funny than "mens and womens HAIRDRESSES salon" !

There are some gems of couplets by Border Roads Org. out our way - next time I'm out driving must note some of them down. Unlike roads in Himachel and Uttarkhand near the Border, ours are really good, well-sealed and ready for the troops to be deployed rapidly!
Brishti - I read yours as 'Don't be shellfish, Eat fish' ! Maybe put up by fish market to encourage buying?

Bengalis are rather fond of fish. You can find even the supposedly vegetarian Bengali Brahmin community eating fish. I had one insist that fish is vegetarian.

Chennai-vaasis will know this. Most of the autos have some 'philosophical' stuff written in the back. I remember this one

"Seerum Paambai Nambu
Sirikkum Pennai Nambaathey"

You can trust a hissing snake but not a smiling woman.

Brshti - I love that one! Excellent sign, YogaGal - need these prominently displayed around the Fort wall - there is one sign with lots of rules and that's one of them but no one reads it.

I know one colleague from goa who calls himself a fishiterian - he takes fish but not chicken/mutton.

In bengal in some families mutton cooked without onion & garlic is considered vegeterian food while chicken is considered non-vegeterian; that's not all, even chholar dal (soup made of bengal gram) is consered non-vegeterian.

Dal is definately non-veg.

It's cruel too: the way those lentils are boiled until they are nearly dead --- and then smashed!
