30,000 Marriages in delhi today !!!

Guys, can you believe it ..

30,000 thousand marriages in delhi today, seems like mad rush.. the whole city will be involved , traffic ..loud music..

Happens once in a while but i will be fun watching how people take it..

Already a couple of weeks ago, I was surprised by the number of weddings in Kolkata. My suspicion that the times were auspicious was confirmed by a newpaper article in Delhi. It seems that Mars is unusually favourable now. Mars in the wrong place in horoscopes can prevent marriages.

The wedding season is decided by astrological calculations well in advance. Dates for individual marriages are given after matching horoscpores of the bride and groom. In common parlance the time is auspicious when the stars are on the ascent. This particular season comes to an end around 15th December, when the "stars go down". So no weddings for a month or so, and all the wedding planners, caterers, banquet halls, hotels and honeymoon packages go out of business for that period. It happens only in India!

Mars and Venus have to be very close for the wedding to take place. Not necessarily in India where the marriage makes them come closer.

Assuming each marriage celebration cost about 150000 ruppes 30000 celebrations mean a huge business!!
