What to do and Where to stay in Palampur?

Hi, We will be in Palampur from 18th (C/in) to 20th (C/Out. We will be arriving from Mcleodganj.
Can you suggest what to do and where to stay in Palampur.
We will need 2 rooms. Budget can be upto Rs.1000 a day.

Can you also let me know the taxi fares (complete hire) from Pathankot - Dalhousie
Dalhousie - Khajjiar - Chamba - Dalhousie
Dalhousie - Mcleodganj
Mcleodganj - Palampur
Palampur - Pathankot

it will give you the info about hotel tea bud and places near palampur,when i was there i liked neugal khad and gopalpur zoo a lot apart from tea gardens.

Is it worth spending a day or two a Palampur or is it advisable to do a day trip from Mcleodganj.

palampur has some really good views of dhauladhars,tea gardens and a river gorge,all in all its a beautiful place

Thanks Once again for your views. How did you find Hotel Tea Bud. Is it clean & good? What would you say are the pros & cons of Tea Bud? planning to spend a night 4 adults + 1 Adult + 1 Infant

Tea Bud is a nice, clean hotel with good rooms. I had stayed their few years back and the hotel was under renovation then.

In case you don't mind spending some extra also check out the Taragarh Palace Hotel. This is an old palce converted into a hotel. More information at this link http://www.taragarh.com

Hi Lazyboy,teabuds is gud enough and clean,taragarh is much more expensive i believe.
