Urgent information required for Kasol, H.P.

Hi all,

Since a longish weekend is coming (25th, 26th and 27th December), I am planning to visit Kasol, Manikaran and the liks. However, I wanted some information regarding the same:

1. From where, in Delhi, do I catch a bus for Kasol? Are the buses luxury, Volvo buses or normal 2x2 ones?

2. Do I need to book a hotel in advance in Kasol, considering the festive weekend on which I plan to travel, or are there enough hotels there to get a room?

3. Also, I doubt there is a direct bus for Kasol, from Delhi. In that case, where do I get down and catch the next vehicle/bus/ taxi for Kasol?

4. I know Kasol is not that good a place to spend 2 odd days; so, please let me know how to spend my 2 days in the best way there.

Take any bus that is going to Kullu or Manali. Get down at Bhuntar and take a cab or a local bus to reach Kasol. It is a wonderful place and you can easily spend two days here.

It will be very quiet in Kasol it closes down at this time,you would be better off staying in Manikaran, no need to book. Also check out if it's snowing if so you may struggle to get there.KK

how deserted will it be???like no tourists at all????is manikaran higher than kasol???how come dat will b open???

Because of the Gurudwara which is one of the sacred spots for Sikhs, Punjabis and Himachalis. In fact the local bus traversing the valley is due largely to Manikaran.
