Yes.. specially if you don't have experience driving there.

Careful driving is one thing, and much to be desired, but if a landslide hits you there's probably not much you can do about it.

The idea of mountain driving scares me (no head for hights; positively allergic to being able to see a sheer drop out of the car window).

Having thought about it, I guess that the thing that you can do about it is not to be there.

This may or may not be possible, but the probability is enhanced by ensuring that you have the best weather forecast information, and getting as much local information as possible.

Yes, a very sad accident, as all accidents are.

I will refrain from giving instruction on the matter of driving, but, there is just one thing that I have learned about driving in India that I would mention. Do not attempt to drive as perfectly in India as you would do in most West European countries and other similar nations.

It confuses those around you, they react oddly and this can and has lead to many accidents. I think it is down to the ‘when in Rome, do as the Romans do' system with one little exception. Keep your eyes on everything around you and try not to even blink.

This is true, on my last journey to Margao in my wife's uncles car, I got out and walked back home.

~My wife and I have been arguing about where to go to live, I want to go back to my home in Goa, she wants to come with me~
