1. Weather is very cool in Narkanda. it was 9-10 Cel. in June in evening. Sept. must be more cooler. Expect same weather in Thanedar. 2. You can easily reach Narkanda same day provided you have own/hired vehicle. 4-5 days are sufficient for Narkanda, Thanedar. 4. Some places you can visit are Hatu Peak in Narkanda, Jalori Pass, Orchards in Thanedar. Otherwise its relaxing place, just gaze snow clad mountains. Mk |

1. weather conditions(rain etc.)
Weather would be cloudy with rains. It normally clears by first week of October 2. i have 5 days in hand, are they sufficient(including travelling from delhi) Delhi to Narkanda is 434 km by road. On a bike/car will be 10 hours drive. 5 days should be sufficient 3. what options do we have in budget accomodation. Narkanda HPTDC Hotel Hatu is best located though the rates are higher. Otherwise try the Mahamaya on the highway. The Circuit House at NKD is closed for renovation. Also check out a PWD Rest House at Narkanda. It also has some great views. At Thanedhar, there is a Banjara hotel but the rates are 3400/- per room. There is a guest house named Sun Set GH where you can negotiate rates though he charges 600/- in season. There is a PWD rest house at Thanedhar which is good. 4. places worth visit nearby Same as mentioned in the above posts

As for your upcoming trip to my back yard ... Weather conditions at this time of the period are nice and sunny , maybe an occassional shower but nothing dreary at all. It cud get nippy if it rains but otherwise the days wud be tee shirt weather with a full sleaves in teh eve . 5 days are enough but better if you cud increase it by a day . Drive aint bad at all and can be done in 8-12 hrs depending on how u drive, traffic encountered, stoppages, etc . Accomo ... a few have been mentioned above but call me or PM me and maybe I can offer you something that aint advertised but wud be a better bet. Places of interest nearby are .. a trek upto Haatu temple though a road does go up as well but I wud recomend a trek. A small lake called Taani Jubbal ... apple orcahards .... forest walks .. star gazing , etc . You cud also drive to the Sarahan temple .. or go to the river side ( dont think of taking a dip in it though ) .. or just drive around . Enough activity for a few days .... Ill be PMing you my phone number ... call me for more stay options !! Cheers |

I suggest you go to Chanderlok building 36, Janpath.
Contact HP tourism office and book hotel Hatu. The charges will be around 1300/night for high end room. You will also get 30% off your final bill. Its a really good place and pretty safe too. I am going near christmas and have gotten booking for this place. |

hotel hatu is the best bet in narkanda, moreover you cant spend a lot of time in narkanda as apart from skiing in winter, hatu peak etc you dont have much to see,you can also go to nearby villages like kotgarh and thanedar approx 18 km. from there. |
