Trip to Manali

Greetings,

I would like to travel Manali and Kullu in mid of February. Can anyone assist me how to plan my trip from Chennai.
My itinerary is, Chennai - Delhi by air route. I dont know whom I have to contact to get more info after that. I would like to know the details about the cost/day. Which hotel is the best?.
How many days require to visit Manali and Kullu?.

u can take HPTDC volvo bus to manali. its 10hrs night journey and costs around 925 per person.
There r lots of hotels in manali. johnson's lodge is good.
Buy "100 holidays in hills by outlook traveller" has lots information. 3 days is enough for manali, kothi, solang valley. if u want to relax and not sightseeing kind of holiday then head to some village, that will be an lifetime experience. u can try some village in kullu. take some wine & food and hire a cab for the whole day. go to a river side place enjoy the day in leisure and relax.
there r so much to see in himachal. from kullu u can have a trip for 2 days to mcleodganj, dharmasala. try momos & soup. u can even go to chamba and or delhousie. chamba is remote place and very scenic. delhousie has good view of himalaya. if u travel to chamba and delhousie then beter hire cab and go in day light. u can really see the hills from a feet distance and touch them and smell them. u'll see scenery changes with each hill u cross.
we actually got bored in 3 days in manali. i moved to delhousie, chamba. we took less travelled route to delhousie thru lahru. it was awesome.
time is never enough so is budget for a good hoiliday in himachal pradesh. u first see how much days u have in hand then 3days to manali. stay a day in naggar. 3 days in kullu.
