Trip to HP in Sep end

Hi All,

I am new to this forum. I have gone through the posts in this forum for some time now. I think its simply great! Thanks to you all!
I am planning a trip to Shimla,Manali,Dalhousie in sep end with my family. Already booked the flight and train tickets. My problem is the stay at shimla. I will be in shimla in these dates: 25,26,27 Sep. Can anyone suggest a decent hotel not too exp in the range of 700-800? Also, will it be cheaper to take a 2N/3D kind of package with food (appr 3k-4k in some hotels) or just the nightly rates and take food outside?
Any decent not so exp place in Dalhousie?

September is off season in Shimla,you'll get plenty of discounts.

Any particular hotel you can suggest? Should i book in advance or can i search for one after i land there?

you can try Hotel shingar,a slightly upmarket hotel but you'd get rooms for 1000-1200 rs. for a double room in off season.try this link http://www.hotelshingar.com/.I have stayed here and the place was good.
