* I also do agree with you to reach early at these remote places like Mud, Losar etc.
* Do you have any contact available for Rakcham ?
* Are you aware about current condition of Giu village Mummy ? after last year flood ? -- so that I can plan to visit ?

Thanks

SKMONDAL
Dear SK, I did not visit Giu village so have no idea about that.

Kshil sir, has already given the contact numbers to book your hotel in sangla valley.

I also heard Giu village was relocated after a flood last year, not sure where and how it exists now. But the mummy is a must see and the road diversion to Giu from SH30 was quite scenic.

Have you gone there before 2010 Dinesha? Or you conclude after discussing with locals or may be even Vinkle who visited the place with me in 2010? I am asking as I have read in newspaper HP Govt relocated the whole village because of a devastating flash flood last year. But it's nice to know that it's still there, I love the location of Giu and felt bad when I read the news.

I met the village head. The people in the village were temporarily relocated. Now they are back on the same place. You will see them when I reach there in my TL.

Thanks Dinesha for the update. Happy to know they are back in their original location, it was a nice place actually.

Sumdo is the place where the road to Kaurik is diverted towards Tiber Border. If you proceed from Sumdo towards Tabo via SH30, you would find the direction of Giu and a road diverting from SH30 to your right and moving to Northern sides. The road is absolutely having no traffic, very isolated and finally ends at Giu village. Apart from location the most interesting is the mummy of the Lama that was preserved naturally.

Getting stuck for 12 hours is really bad.

How to attach snaps in reports is explained here between post 33 and 37.

Eagerly waiting for next part and the snaps!!
Thanks Kshil. I have been down with viral hence have not been able to post further. But will do so soon.

This information of yours sounds very interesting to me. Even though I would be going close to that region, but not exactly from that side or there.

Can you please post the link of your Giu village pics., and specifically of the mummy, if you have taken a snap of it?

Thank you in advance!

Neilangel, have you gone through the first post of this thread, where I actually wrote the report, it is long, I know but there I wrote about it.

Snap link is also posted there but for you giving it again here. First Snap would be the Mummy in this Spiti lot.

Make sure you visit the place, I am sure you would enjoy!!

Thanks Kshil & Mosederbaer for your reply. Thanks Dinesha for sharing information about Giu Village. I will definitely visit that place.
In the mean time I have completed booking process Bhima Kali Temple guest house. Next step will be booking a Car.
What can be expected minimum temperature at night during my trip (ie sep last to oct 1st week); any possibility of getting below freezing temp at night ?
