suggestions invited... Shimla-Spiti-Lahaul-Leh

Hello trekkers,
I am planning a trip from shimla to leh. Need suggestion from experienced trekkers.
Places to touch are shimla, Kalpa, kaza (dinkar, kibar, chandra tal), tso moriri, pangong lake, leh.
Here is my plan.
delhi to shimla or rampur by volvo bus.
Hire cab / motor cycle from shimla or rampur till leh.
take flight back to delhi from leh.

Now comes the suggestion part.
1. Can I take my wife if its a motorcycle trip. Is it safe.
2. Has anyone taken less travelled road such as (kiber - karzok - tso moriri - raldong - nyoma - loma - chusul - man - spangmik - tangse - sakti - karu - leh ). Any comment on this road. Is there any frequent landslides or road blocks. Is it possible to take car on this route.
3. Is it safe for woman to travel on motobikes on these less travelled roads.
4. any Hotels on the stated route. Places to eat. Petrol pumps.
5. how many days should be enough for this route but nothing should be in hurry. I plan to take break whenever wanted.
6. is it possible to hire bike in shimla and return it in Leh.
7. Any route map for the stated route.
8. Any special permit. where to get permit. how many days it takes to get permit.
8. how much a car would cost per day and how much a bike rental costs.
9. Best time to plan this. no rain no snow month.

So many questions. Any suggestion is appreciated. Any contacts appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t see any problem with it

Nearly impossible to get permits for Chusul, add to that it’s a really tough ride with sandy trails; with a pillion it would be even tougher.

Quite a few couple do it

Plenty of places to eat, fuel shouldn’t be an issue. But on an Enfield you might need to carry ~5 liters of spare fuel for Tandi – Leh

I don’t think you will get a bike for hire in Shimla, better hire from Delhi

you need only a few hours to get the permits and you need them for Pangong Tso, Khardung La – Nubra, Tso Moriri, these are available at DC’s office in Leh

Bike rental is 400+ a day depending on motorcycle, car private number from Delhi would come out to be ~8-9 a km for a quails + 100-200 a day for driver. With a commercial number vehicle from Delhi/HP you wont be able to go to Tso Moriri, Pangong Tso, Nubra.
