Voyager, thank you for the reply. But won't sneakers do? I ask because they are much more comfortable and if grip is not an issue I would like to use sneakers. And thanks for the jeep rates too.

Hi! Sneakers will do but your feet will hurt more, the Spiti rocks and spree can be nasty. And you increase manifold the risk of straining your ankles.

Voyger thanks for the advice once again.

Also we think we will have time, so can Batal to Chandratal and back trek can be done in one day? How much time would it take?

Hi! I believe that from Batal to Chandratal there are at least 15 kms. So if you walk rather fast you could do it in 3 hours or so.In my opinion it's not worth to do it in one day.

I am back from my visit to Spiti and I did this very homestay trek. Loved it. Too tired as of now. But here are two of my best pictures from the trip. More soon.

And a big thank you to all for all the help in planning this trip. Could not do Chandra Tal this time but that is for the next visit ...

Wandering Spirit, we liked the trek a lot. We found all the home stays quite clean and our guides quite helpful. Let me know if you have a specific concern.

Langza (the first day of the trek, even without walking) is quite high and one should not rush on the first day or you may get a bit uncomfortable due to the altitude. That happened with us.

I am quit a novice with the camera and just clicked what caught my fancy. The pictures are from Canon Digital Rebel XT.

Hope you will have a wonderful trip.
