That is, what i can tell, an excellent info Dhananjay. It woudl be of immense help. From the pics, I found out that visiting out in the remote villages of Spiti will give me more opportunities. Thank you very much. I will visit you when I go to Spiti, obviously I will go via Shimla. Bhaswaran ![]() |

Hi Bhaswaran, thanks for your praise... these pictures required more than one visit in Spiti. I travelled 3 times to this remote places for the right light! Landscape photographers know what I mean...
Yes, visit Dhananjay in Shimla... He'll show you my "Spiti slide show" if he don't erased his PC hard disk... I'll miss Himachal this year! AndreasW |

Hi! The road to Ki,Kibber,Gete and Tashigang is one thing, the one to Langza,Hikim and Comic is another. There is NO(NO) connection between the Kibber road and the Comic road,I travelled both MANY times and in between the 2 there is the very deep gorge of the Shilla nala that is hardly possible to cross even on foot in summer.

Now that I am doing this trek in a weeks time, what would you guys suggest about shoes? Can one risk walking in sneakers? Or trekking shoes are a must? Also any budget recommendations about staying in Kaza?

Hi! A friend of mine is supposed to have left Manali for kaza today in a car. And jeeps are running,at the exorbitant rate of 1000 Rs per seat. I've seen people doing this easygoing trek on sandals(but their feet were bleeding afterwards). Go for trekking shoes.
