Spiti to Kinnaur - road problem in September

I'm planing to visit there in the start of September (sometimes around 10/9-10/10) , I have read numerous posts about the road getting blocked by mud slides (mainly from 2005) :

Does it happens in on those dates usuly ?

Are road reopen in a couple of days (or other alternative) ?

What would be the better starting point in terms of weather ?

I guess my boss won't like me spending the winter in India

Thanks in advance ...

instead of 10th september late september would be better for kinnaur route as the monsoon will be on wane which would result in no or less landslides.

Bright and blue sky here in Kaza now , arrived here yesterday after Kalpa - Peo - Nako (two nights with occasional drizzles).
Some weird black spots on the road , soft and warm (I swear you could lie down and sleep on them ) , otherwise nothing special : the familiar Ladakhi rattle and hum on the buses.

Hi! Here in Kaza today is cloudy, windy and cold, but not much rain these days so here in Spiti there is no problem whatsoever. The bus from Peo comes regularly everyday and I don't see any reason to postpone. The longer you wait the colder it becomes, restaurant and guest houses will shut down mostly around the 15 of this month and trekking becomes hardly possible, because of cold and risks of early snow. I would go as fast as I can,and if in Kinnaur it's raining too much just move up here. Cheers

Hi! Due to heavy rains the infamous Malling block is active today and no vehicular traffic is going through, some jeeps have indeed turned back. There is snow on the mountains top and it is getting cold, too cold for this time of the year.
