Spiti/Kinnaur Renting a car or Taxi from town to town

thinking about doing the kinnaur spiti loop from shimla via sarahan, kalpa, tabo, kaza and so on to manali.
would it be cheaper to rent a car for the whole trip or charter a car to go from town to town?
i am a fast traveller and normally don't stay more than a day in a place.
what to expect for prices of a reasonable car (no tata indica)?

It would always be cheaper to take it for whole trip rather than point to point specially if you don't plan to stay in a place for long primarliy for 2 reasons:

1. The bargain you can do to fix a car from a place like Shimla/Manali won't be possible when you hire a car from lesser known place like Sarahan / Tabo etc. So you don't get much of cost advantage and sometimes would be forced to pay whatever they charge as you might find yourself stuck.

2. Assuming you are getting a trouble free car, your ability to follow a preplanned itinerary and flexibility is much more with a car that is arranged for whole trip. Why should you keep a headache of getting a car at every place and waste some valuable time in finding and negotiating them unless you have some significant cost advantage?
