Is advance booking for Accomodation Required????????????????

YouŽll be more comfortable in Nako if you sleep up in Kalpa instead of Peo.
Hi! In my opinion at that time of the year no need to book accomodation in the places where you want to stay. There aren't buses to all the places you want to go,or if there are it could be difficult to reach your intended destination using only buses on the day you have in mind. To Dankhar no bus for example. The bus to Ki and Kibber is only in the evening, and the one to the Pin valley too. To Chandratal also no bus,so without a car you have to trek there, and in the morning start quite early to take the bus to Manali in Batal. In Spiti you should be able to find rooms for 3 people within 500 Rs everywhere, including Tabo which is on average more expensive than the other places.

Isn't it too packed up?
Samik, Welcome to IM!
Very valid points raised by Vistet and Voyager. Your itinerary IMO is pretty packed up, and to do it, you probably need a private car.
Also, a regular car for 3 pax (e.g. Alto/Indica) may not be good around the higher areas (Kaza/Kibber/Chandratal). An SUV is better which has better ground clearance.
If you are bent on public transports, then you should plan to add at least 3-4 more days.... only after researching the bus availability.

Did you wear the other person's shoe today?

Will losar be a halting point for visiting Chandrataal???
Hi!You can get a car in Kaza visit Ki and Kibber in one or two hours and pay for that 700-750 RS return(last year rates). You can take a bus from Tabo to just past Sichiling and walk up to Dankhar in around 1 hour or little more, then walk back in the afternoon to the the main road and catch the bus coming from Peo and go to Kaza,at around 4 PM.Or take a jeep in Tabo for the whole trip.Bus to Ki and Kibber should leave Kaza at 5 or 5.30 PM,to the Pin valley at 4.30 PM.To Losar the bus is at 4 PM,or in the morning you take the Manali bus,one normally at 4.30 AM,the other one, if it's there, leaves Kaza at 7. A jeep from Kaza to Chandratal last year was 3500 Rs,for little more or the same it could take you back to Batal,or for yet a bit more to Losar, where accomodation and food are much better than at Batal, and the next morning you can take the bus to Manali. If you trek to Chandratal there's no need to stop in Losar, you get off the bus at the Kunzum La and start walking from there,10 kms or so,and the next morning early you walk to Batal on the motorable road to catch the Manali bus.

Is it possible to stay at chandrataal??
R thr any Guest house..
R thr any Guest house..
Hi! Hopefully there will never be a guest house at Chandratal. There should be,though,a tented camp, double bedded tents and a kind of restaurant.Don't book them in Kaza through Ecosphere, they would cost you 4 times more, just show up there. And there used to be a simpler dhaba with some quilts and mattrasses to sleep, also under a tent, cheaper and more fun.

How far to Pin Valley Is motorable???
Hi! Never been to Sangla Kanda so I can't say,but if you search the site you will find what you need to know.Kungri gompa is in the Pin valley,in the village of the same name, just above Guling, the first village you come across in the valley. You can go by car there, and there is a daily bus also. In the morning the same bus goes to Kaza but not through Kungri so you have to walk a bit down till the main road. The Pin valley is motorable all the way until Mud, the last village of the valley, some 30 kms from Attargo bridge, and even few kms further. There is also a road going to the right side connecting Khar,Todnum and Tilling villages. Kaza during HH teachings will be packed, prices will shoot up 3 times or so therefore you should book, but probably some tents will be there too,and homestaying also possible.
