simla manali ladakh tips
hi all,
i am planning a bike trip next year mid.i am no serious biker but have a great desire to ride in this part of the world.would like to know whether a normal biker can pulloff this exciting trip or whether i have to make necessary changes in order to do so.
another question is whether i can take my wife along.is it safe?are there quality lodgings available through out or do u have to sleep in tents?
are bullets available in amritsar for the ride ?
please advice since i have no clue of the place
regards

You can surely take your wife along on your trip. Most of the places you will find proper accommodation except in Sarchu (on the Manali - Leh highway)where you will have to stay in tents. But there are tents with attached toilet.

As you said you are not a serious biker, then my advice is not to go in Leh Via Manali. Its very difficult and may be beyond what you have seen in pictures. And for a non-regular biker, bullet m/c will be a real pain. And never rely on a rented bullets ever. Its better you do your first bike ride via Kashmir and that too on 180cc pulsar or on Hero Honda's bike.
You can take your wife along without any fear. Mountains are more secure then our cities. Just forget about quality lodging
Take this ride as an expedition. Carefully planned route and enough time in hand will make it once in a life time experience.
