to your first question: sure, it would be better to stay over night in Nako, than you have more time to enjoy this beautiful aerea. But when you have only 8 days you have to decide which highlight you cancel. I would cancel Sarahan and drive directly from Kalka to Kalpa (RekongPeo), than you win 1 day. Other people would say stay only 1 night in Tabo.
2. To visit the ChandraTal is possible, you can drive with your Jep from Kunzum La to the lake (10-15km) but it takes time, because the way is not good. When you want to make this, it would be better you sleep in Losar the night before.
3. Keylong to Leh is possible in one day. We did it from Leh to Keylong, and we had enough time for brekfast and lunch on the way. Also we made some fotostops. We started after sunrise and reached Keylong before sunset. Proplems with the high you will not get when you have been in Spiti before.

Nako is a nice place to spend a night at. We did leisurely road trip in summer of 2008 from Pune to Spiti Valley and back. You can find details on http://www.mmygreatroadtrip.blogspot.com.
