Shimla in September/YMCA contact details.

I am at my wits end! I am trying to find the telephone number for the YMCA in Shimla and so far I have had 2 recorded messages from the operator and spoken to a young Indian girl in her family home!
If anybody has this PLEASE post it up. The numbers printed in Lonely Planet and in Footprints do not seem to work.

I am looking for somewhere to stay (budget) in Shimla, between 6th and 9th September. This seems like the best bet, unless anybody has other suggestions.

Not sure if I have the number (but I will hunt around for it...I remember we tried several times to call and got wrong numbers more than once. Finally we just showed up and asked for a room) but YMCA in Shimla is very nice (and breakfast is included in the price). Was just there at the end of June. It was in a good location and the people were very nice. (It was a great place to recover from a nasty case of Dehli belly...)

September in Shimla is considered "off-season", hence you will find most of the hotels offering hefty discounts. There is no need to narrow your options to the YMCA.

Land in Shimla and a suitable hotel will find you, rather than your finding it !!

The YMCA's no. is 0177-2250021. Was it the same you tried?

Hey Shimla,
thanks very much, that is very good news. Yes, it was the same number that i tried, but i couldn't make much sense of the recorded messages, something about codes changing, but each message gave me a diffeent code. VERY confusing. I think i'll just turn up and wing it.

YMCA, Shimla is located behind the famous Christ Church. Take the lane up from near the Ritz Cinema.
