Share Taxis from kalka or Shimla to Recong Peo
Do we get share Taxis from kalka or Shimla to Recong Peo? If so can i get any details?? rates etc...

Yes you do
You get these at Kalka Railway station or look for the small office of Kalka Shimla Taxi Union. Shimla to Recong Peo there are no sharing taxis but you get the early morning newspaper vans. These are maxi cabs which leave at around 5 am from Main Bus station at Shimla and they seat 7-8 passangers.

Personally I would take a shared taxi only if the bus is not available. Two main disadvantages:
1. Usually you are squeezed between the passangers even more than in the public bus and 2. Should the road be blocked by the avalanche, you will have to take another vehicle after crossing it and may have a long discussion with the driver concerning the price for the first interval. |

Well i met one of these taxi dudes while i was in shimla few weeks back and it turns out they ply Sumo's and if they have 7 passengers everyone will be comfortable because a sumo can accomodate 7 people conveniently.
Im headed to sarahan on one of these cabs next month and i will fight my way to get the front seat for the views  |

also the front seat because the carsick passengers' puke flies backwards, and sometimes in through the rear windows.
