Sangla in March/Sangla accomodation?
Sangla in March/Sangla accomodation?
Can anyone advise me what the climate would be like in the Sangla valley in March/April? Will it still be snowbound and quite cold?
Also, if anyone can advise where to find a nice place to stay for at least a few weeks in the Sangla valley. Is it possible to rent a quiet little house from locals and arrange to do your own cooking? Are there facilities for travellers who wish to settle for a longer period of time and live a quiet life or are the facilities more geared towards trekkers who come through on short trips and stay only a few nights? If anyone can recommend where to find a small house to rent or some other quiet type of guest house geared towards longer term staying, I would appreciate it.

I wont recommend Sangla in March.. It is only by the end of april that the snow is melted and the algae/plants start growing. You may miss the flora and fauna of the area in March..

Road not open...
Currently the road is down coz of bridges washed away. A bad road is temporarily up till Rekong Peo. Repair work is going on, but will stop during the winter. If the road is not up by Nov end, the repair work will resume in mid-march. In which case it will [hopefully??] be up by April or May 2006.
In this worst-case scenario, you can reach Sangla only by walking [in your proposed peroid of march 2006]
